The Howmans Gap Catering Coordinator is critical to the safe enjoyment of our guests. The Catering Coordinator is acritical and regular interface between guests and the organisation. Guests have a high expectation of food beingfresh, healthy andtasty. Additionally great care must be taken to ensure food hygiene is an absolute priorityincluding; robust systems, regulated cleaning, strong practices for allergy management and high standards forkitchen staff.

The Howmans Gap Alpine Centre provides high quality educational and recreational experiences for guests visitingthe Alpine National Park.

Howmans Gap Alpine Centre (YMCA) is located amongst the bushland of the Alpine National Park, approximately4km north west from Falls Creek. The Centre features a mix of accommodation options sleeping up to208 people.Our core business is the provision of camping, outdoor programming and accommodation to a range of user groups.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience in leading, planning, preparing and serving food for large groups (up to 190 people);
• Knowledge of food allergies and diverse menu requests; and
• Experience in the alpine environment.

Qualifications and / or Licences

• Commercial catering qualification;
• Minimum requirement is to hold a Certificate 3 in Catering or equivilent;
• It is desireable for successful candidates to hold a level 2 or greater first aid qualification.

• Certificate 3 or above in Commercial Cookery
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• First Aid Level 2
• CPR and Anaphylaxis Annual Update

• a national criminal history check
• an international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas
• holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/ equivalent in accordance with state/ territory laws
• ACF SafeguardingChildren and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
• Two reference checks
